We got through immigration without incident and then on to baggage claim. As luck would have it only one bag didn't make it to Brisbane, mine. As I heard my name over the intercom I knew I would be the one without clean clothes, but as I've heard over and over "No worries Mate"! The Qantas representative said it had been left in LA but assured me it would be on the flight the next day and they would deliver it to me. It was a minor inconvenience and it was on the flight the next day.
I have to say the next couple of days are a bit of a blur as:
1. We lost New Year's Day completely having crossed the International Date Line
2. We were exhausted having flown 20 hours
3. Driving to Bundaberg, was a 5 hour drive on the wrong side of the road
4. General crabbiness due to not eating enough, drinking enough water, or moving around enough
BUT, we did find a lovely place to land in Bargara, a "suburb" of Bundaberg.
Kelly's Beach Resort (www.kellysbeachresort.com.au) had one villa available for 2 nights and we collapsed in a condo that could have slept 8 people. (Look for John's feet relaxing in the lower picture)
Pool time and 89 degrees!
